Breastfeeding
Breastfeeding is a baby's first line of defense against poor nutrition, illness, and even obesity. From simply smiling at a breastfeeding mom in public to being an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), everyone can help support breastfeeding. If you would like to be more involved, contact these local breastfeeding coalitions:

School Wellness
The Southeastern Kentucky School Wellness Coalition is a group of community members from both the public and private sectors that promote improved health among our region’s students via the school environment. This group is a collaborative effort between the Partnership for a Fit Kentucky and Kentucky Action for Healthy Kids and serves schools located within the 13 counties (Breathitt, Knott, Lee, Leslie, Letcher, Owsley, Perry, Wolfe, Floyd, Pike, Johnson, Martin, & Magoffin) that make up the Kentucky River and Big Sandy Area Development Districts. Involvement with the coalition is open to anyone interested in improving school wellness. For more information about the coalition and its work, please contact any of the following individuals:
